Aardy for Apple TV

Pairing the Apple TV

Pair with an iPhone using a 4-digit code, or connect to a Mac.

With an iPhone

  1. Open Aardy on the TV, and Aardy for iPhone on your phone.
  2. On the phone, choose the TV and start pairing.
  3. The TV shows Pair with your phone's name, with a 4-digit code. Type that code on the phone.

Up to three phones can pair with one TV. If a code appears that you did not ask for, press Menu on the Siri Remote to dismiss it. To forget a phone, choose Settings, then iPhones, and select it.

After ten wrong codes the TV stops accepting pairings for a few minutes.

With a Mac

Open Aardy on the TV. It looks for your Mac automatically. If it finds more than one, choose one. If it finds none, enter the Mac's address and port 8737 by hand. A TV uses one Mac at a time and never switches on its own. To change, go to Settings, then Mac.

The Mac also needs to pair with the TV for remote control, so it can start the slideshow and know when the TV is idle. That is done on the Mac, with two PINs the TV shows.

Phones and a Mac together

A TV is managed by one Mac or by iPhones, never both. To move a TV from phones to a Mac, use Move to Mac in Aardy for iPhone.
