Do I need to buy Aardy for each Apple TV?
No. One purchase covers every Apple TV signed in with the same Apple ID, and Family Sharing extends it to your family.
Is there a subscription?
No. $4.99 is the whole price. There are no in-app purchases.
Do I need the Mac or iPhone app?
No. The Apple TV app works on its own with the two built-in packs. The free apps add your own photos.
Why is the Mac app free but not on the Mac App Store?
It watches folders on external drives and NAS shares and runs a small server on your network, which the Mac App Store sandbox does not allow. It is a direct download.
