The basics
Privacy at a glance
No account, no cloud, no tracking. Your photos stay on your home network.
Aardy was built so your family photos stay at home.
What stays on your network
- There is no Aardy account and no Aardy cloud.
- Photos move between your own devices over your local network: phone to TV, or Mac to TV.
- Importing copies photos into Aardy's library on your Mac. Your original folders are never changed, and your Photos library is never changed.
- Pairing needs a code shown on the screen in front of you, so nobody else on your network can send photos to your TVs.
What does reach the internet
- Weather comes from MET Norway. No account or key is needed.
- Place names. Photos are placed offline from their GPS first. If you choose to refresh places, the Mac asks free online map services for a better answer and for landmark names.
- Shared Albums reach your Mac through Apple's iCloud, exactly as they do in Photos.
Location
The iPhone app uses a photo's location only to find a place name. The copies sent to a TV do not contain GPS coordinates.
