Keeping packs up to date

What stays in sync, when changes are sent, and what to do after a TV clears its storage.

When you add or remove photos in an album you sent, your TVs catch up.

When changes are sent

  • When Aardy opens. It sends what changed in your albums.
  • While charging. Aardy can also do it while the phone charges on Wi-Fi.

Both are switches in Settings under Keep packs in sync. Turn off whichever you do not want.

With a Mac, albums that are also in the Mac's own Photos library (the same iCloud account) sync on their own and nothing is uploaded from the phone.

When a TV clears its storage

tvOS may clear an app's storage when it runs low. The TV plays what is left and shows Open Aardy on your iPhone to restore 212 photos. Opening Aardy on the phone that made the pack sends them again.

Packs from other phones

Every paired phone sees all the packs on a shared TV, with the owner's name. Only the owner can change them, and only the owner's phone restores them.
